Daily Circle Time
Age: 3+
Daily Circle Time is a fun social class community-building class with many developmental benefits, including developing thinking, listening, observing, speaking, and concentrating skills. It also helps learners with executive function skills such as time awareness through participation in regular daily routines.
Let’s Move
Age: 3+
Let’s Move is a high-energy class that gets learners moving! Each Let’s Move class has activities that provide both a brain break and some PE time.
Builders’ Club
Age: 3+
Welcome to the exciting world of creative building! This hands-on class is designed to give kids the opportunity to unleash their creativity and develop their problem-solving skills while constructing amazing creations. Join us on a journey of imagination and innovation where the possibilities are endless. Let’s build, create, and have fun together!
Supplies needed: Building blocks of your choosing
Knead and Create
Age: 3+
Play dough is a simple, fun tool with many developmental, learning, and sensory benefits.
It helps young children develop fine muscle control in their hands while stimulating the imagination and calming the senses. Squishing, smashing, pulling, twisting, rolling, cutting, and all the other fun of play dough help develop fine motor skills, build hand strength, dexterity, and the control needed to use many everyday items such as pencils, scissors, zippers, and buttons.
Gratitude Club
Age: 5+
All too often, we humans search for happiness and contentment outside of ourselves. We turn to new things, people, and places to fill what can feel like an insatiable void. Ever purchased your child something new only for it to be loved for hours or days before the next new thing is so desperately wanted? A gratitude practice is an effective, research-supported way to inspire well-rounded, resilient, and content kids. Gratitude is the key to showing us happiness, and contentment is an inside job!
Nature Club
Age: 3+
The perfect class for nature lovers, adventurers, and explorers! Does your young learner enjoy playing in the woods and climbing trees? Are they always finding interesting rocks, making things out of sticks, or finding treasures to bring home? Then this class is for them. Learners are invited to bring what they have found in the great outdoors to class so they can tell us all about it!
Number of the Week
Age: 3+
Each week will focus on a number from 0 – 10. Learners will be encouraged to count, trace and write the number. Classes will include basic math concepts such as addition and subtraction.
Letter of the Week
Age: 3+
Each Letter of the Week class will focus on one letter of the alphabet (the letter will remain the same for the entire week for easy of planning for families and if they choose, beneficial repetition for young learners). Learners will be encouraged to practice saying and recognizing the letter and its sound.
Storysmiths
Age: 5+
Storysmiths is a creative writing adventure. This class will ignite your child’s imagination and strengthen their writing skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Early French
Age: 3+
Each Early French is an introduction to French for young learners and will focus on vocabulary and basic French conversation. No previous knowledge is required.
Number Sense
Age: 5+
In Number Sense, young learners dive into the world of numbers with engaging activities!
All Things Unicorns
Age: 3+
Unicorn lovers unite!
Unicorns are a fun way for us to engage young learners in a conversation about individuality and uniqueness through imagination and whimsy. In this fun, social class, learners will be provided with unicorn colouring pages to colour during class while chatting about what makes each of us unique, focusing on positive self-image and self-love.
Yoga Stories
Age: 3+
In Yoga Stories, kids explore the world of yoga through fun and imaginative movement! This class combines simple yoga poses and stretches with engaging stories that spark the imagination. As we move through each pose, we’ll practice mindfulness to help calm our minds and bodies. This class will help learners develop meditation and mindfulness techniques useful when dealing with our feelings, big or small.
Cardboard Creations
Age: 5+
Get ready to unleash your creativity in Cardboard Creations! In this learner-led class, kids will transform ordinary cardboard into extraordinary art and imaginative projects. We’ll focus on thinking outside the box and using our creativity to build, design, and explore.
Crafting Table – Upcycle Crafting
Age: 3+
Collect your recyclables from around the house and let’s craft! This open ended crafting class is all about individual creativity and imagination using recycled materials.
Let’s Paint
Age: 3+
Let’s paint together using our fingers, brushes or sponges. This class will focus on the process of painting using a variety of different paint mediums and tools.
Learn to Tell the Time
Age: 5+
In this class, students will learn the essential skill of reading analog clocks. Analog clocks have been used for centuries and are still widely prevalent in various aspects of daily life, from wristwatches to wall clocks. This class aims to provide participants with the knowledge and proficiency needed to interpret analog clock faces accurately.
Imagine Explorers
Age: 3+
Imagine Explorers is a dynamic oral storytelling class where learners actively participate in story creation. With a base storyline, educators will set the stage for the adventure, and along the way, learners will add to the account with their input. This class will have lots of body movement as learners act out the story as it’s being told.
Loose Parts Play
Age: 3+
Friends, bring your collection of loose parts, pom poms, shells, beads, bottle caps, packing peanuts and other fun pieces! This class helps young learners develop fine motor skills, basic math skills and is fun and calming.
Shapes and Colours
Age: 3+
The perfect class for your creative preschooler. This class will use simple crafts to learn about shapes and colours. We will have fun discussing the shape and colour of the week and exploring items in the world around us that are like that shape or colour.

Mother’s Day Craft
Age: 3+
The love of a family is a beautiful thing! In this class, learners will have the opportunity to make a craft just for mom or those they love just like a mom.
Supplies needed:
- Mother’s Day Craft printout (from NLA parent resources)
- Washable tempera paint
- Pencil, coloured pencils, crayons, or markers
The craft printout can be printed on paper or, if available in your area, on canvas.
Parent’s Day Craft
Age: 3+
The love of a family is a beautiful thing! In this class, learners will have the opportunity to make a craft just for their parents or those they love just like a parent.

Halloween Party!
Age: 3+
Calling all Halloween lovers! Join us for this year’s NLA Halloween party! Come dressed up or not. There are no rules; it is just an opportunity for friends to get together! There will be dancing, games, and of course, the opportunity for any friends who want to show off a costume to do so!
Culinary Kids – Fruit Pizza
Age: 3+
This hands-on class gets kids into the kitchen to make tasty fruit snacks.
This class can be modified per the skills and abilities of individual learners and dietary needs and preferences.
Culinary Kids – Ants on Logs
Age: 3+
In this fun and interactive class, young chefs will learn how to make a classic, healthy snack—Ants on Logs!
Culinary Kids – Egg Bites
Age: 3+
Join us to make tasty and customizable egg bites! We’ll start with a simple base, and kids can add their favourite ingredients to create their own delicious snacks.
Culinary Kids – Peanut Butter Bites
Age: 3+
This hands-on beginner cooking class gets kids into the kitchen to make tasty peanut butter bites (energy balls).
This class can be modified per individual dietary needs and preferences.
Culinary Kids – Mug Cake
Age: 3+
Young bakers will create a delicious mug cake using simple ingredients. We’ll mix melted butter, white and brown sugar, an egg yolk, a pinch of salt, flour, and chocolate chips to make a tasty treat.
Culinary Kids – Coconut Banana Booms
Age: 3+
Get ready to cook up some fun with our Coconut Banana Booms class! In this class, kids will have a blast making delicious treats from scratch.

Science Corner – Floor is Lava
Age: 5+
Young engineers will design and build a structure in this class to save as many counting friends as possible. Using plastic cups, popsicle sticks, index cards, and small weights (counting bears or other small figures), kids will explore concepts of stability and engineering through hands-on experimentation
Science Corner – Rainbow Milk
Age: 3+
Rainbow milk is a fun and engaging way to see chemistry in action! This fun experiment provides an excellent visual for observing chemical reactions.
Science Corner – Oobleck
Age: 3+
Is it a solid or a liquid? This fun substance is both! Known as a “non-Newtonian fluid,” Oobleck doesn’t respond to outside forces as expected. Oobleck is a fun and engaging way to see physics in action!
Science Corner – Balancing Act
Age: 5+
Dive into the world of measurement by creating your very own balance scale! Using everyday materials, kids will learn how to measure and compare the weight of different objects. We’ll explore balance, weight, and comparison, turning abstract ideas into tangible experiences.
Science Corner – Growing a Rainbow
Age: 5+
Discover the magic of capillary action in our Growing a Rainbow class! Kids will use paper towels, washable markers, and water to create a colourful, flowing rainbow. This hands-on activity will show how water moves through paper and mixes colours, making science fun and vibrant!
Science Corner – Expanding Soap
Age: 5+
Kids will explore physical changes and states of matter by watching how a bar of soap transforms when heated.
Science Corner – Aquafaba
Age: 5+
Foam from chickpeas? Join us to explore Aquafaba, where kids will learn how to turn the liquid from a can of chickpeas into a light, fluffy foam!
Science Corner – Popsicle Stick Catapults
Age: 5+
This class combines fun with learning by creating an interactive project introducing basic physics and engineering principles. Our young scientists will build their very own Popsicle stick Catapults using simple materials while exploring concepts like force, energy, and motion
Science Corner – Quiet vs Loud
Age: 3+
What is sound? In this fun, physics-based science class learners explore sound.
Science Corner – Rubber Band Guitar
Age: 3+
In this fun, physics-based science class learners explore sound while creating their own musical instrument.
Science Corner – Make it Rain
Age: 3+
In this hands-on weather focused science class, learners will use basic materials to demonstrate what happens when clouds become too heavy with water droplets, and rain falls from the sky.
Science Corner – Volcano Building
Age: 5+
Have you ever made a homemade volcano project where you built the volcano from scratch? In this simple but fun class you will get to do exactly that.
Science Corner – Volcano Erupting
Age: 5+
Now you have your volcano all ready to go, in this class we will add the right ingredients to see it erupt.
